A former member of the Lacombe Curling Club has earned the chance to represent our Country at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Korea.

Colin Hodgson who plays lead, and his teammates, skip Reid Carruthers, third Braeden Moskowy, and second Derek Samagalski, won the Homehardware Canada Cup Men's title last weekend, and with it a berth to the 2017 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings Canadian Curling Trials in Ottawa next December.

Hodgson says the goal now is to play consistent until then "every team goes through peaks and valleys, we want to try and plan our moments of growth and our moments of performance so we're going to put a lot of thought and a lot of work into trying to peak at the trials and represent Canada at the Olympics is our ultimate goal".

Hodgson says they'll be heading to Vegas in 5 weeks time to represent North America, which will be great experience for the Olympic Trials "going to be such a great feeling and we're ecstatic about that and hopefully that gives us a little more exposure to international play and having that extra added pressure on you isn't something we've necessarily had from having to represent a country".
