Lacombe Generals 3- Red Deer Rustlers 2

The Lacombe AA Generals are now the NCHL (North Central Senior Hockey League) Vanberg Cup Champions.

In front of 1100 fans at The Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex, Lacombe was able to beat the Red Deer Rustlers 3-2. The Gens would win the series 4 games to 1.

Things started a bit rough for the home team when Red Deer Rustler, Lane Sim opened the scoring at the 11:39 mark. But just over two minutes later Lacombe would come back and tie the game with a Cam Maclise goal to make it 1-1.

The Generals would then take over in the second period with goals from Thomas Beretta and Jamie Johnson to put the game up 3-1.

A third-period last minute goal from Ryley Smith of the Rustlers would make it interesting, but not enough as Lacombe would go on to become the 2022-2023 Vanberg Cup Champs.
