An Indigenous grandmother from Treaty 6 Territory is walking across Canada to raise awareness for Canada’s Missing Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW). Krista Fox’s journey began on February 18, 2022 in Victoria, British Columbia and will end in St. John’s Newfoundland.

Today (March 16), Fox is headed to central Alberta walking from Airdrie to Red Deer. She provides live updates through the social media app Tik Tok where she is doing the majority of her campaigning. On the account, you can watch Krista complete her journey live or check out her videos where she makes an effort to honour the lives of Missing Murdered and Indigenous Women through honour calls and other acknowledgements to families dealing with loss.

You can check out her Tik Tok account here or follow her journey through her Facebook page here.
