The Lacombe Kinsmen Club has teamed up with Sunny 94 for their annual Lacombe Days Kick-Off Barbeque.

“We're just so excited to have everybody again for our annual Lacombe Days kickoff Barbecue. It's going to be a beautiful day, Sunny is going to be out, we’re just really looking forward to seeing everybody here,” said Cayla Gabruck, Sunny 94 Studios General Manager.

The barbeque is free of charge but donations are encouraged for the Lacombe Kinsmen Club. This year, the Lacombe Kinsmen Club is back at full throttle thanks to the lifted COVID-19 restrictions.

“Back in June, we had a very successful golf tournament or John Dolman Memorial Golf Classic went off without a hitch. That raises money for the Central Alberta Cancer Care Network as well as other local charities and things like that,” explained Craig Darrell, a member of the Kinsmen Club.

Darrell noted that the fundraising from the golf classic was on par with some of their stronger fundraising years.

“We also just wrapped up our 50/50 and that was in support of the Lacombe Legion and the lucky winner won $4000 off of that just a little bit ago,” he added.

The Kinsmen Club is also preparing for their annual Ladies Night in October.

Darrell is also looking forward to getting out in the community for Lacombe Days.

“We’re excited for the barbeque. We love getting out and seeing everyone in the community Lacombe days is always such a big event and we look forward to seeing everybody,” added Darrell.

The barbeque is free to attend but donations are encouraged to support the Lacombe Kinsmen’s local initiatives.
