Based on data collected from Prentiss, Alberta on Environment Canada, weather in the area has not dipped below -16°C in January so far.  The weather has also occasionally dipped into the positives time and time again this month.

However, we may soon be returning to the norm as we head into the weekend.

There’s a chance of flurries as we head into Friday and Saturday. Saturday night we may see a low as cold as -18°C. From there, the overnight low only gets colder for the foreseeable future.
