RCMP advise that the MVC has been cleared and traffic is once again moving on highway 11 south of Eckville.

UPDATE: 8:26 am

Sylvan lake RCMP are currently on-scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision between a semi tractor trailer unit and a vehicle on Highway 11 near the Highway 766 intersection. Both East and West bound traffic is being diverted. RCMP are asking drivers to avoid the area. RCMP anticipate remaining on-scene for several hours while they investigate the circumstance of the collision.

Information on the deceased will not be released at this time.

A serious crash has closed a part of Highway 11 near Eckville.

Just south of Eckville on highway 11 between highway 766 and Range Road 33 no traffic is going through.

A detour is in place.
