It’s supposed to be a beautiful long weekend in central Alberta. There also some special events happening throughout the area.

Here’s a look at some of the things happening in central Alberta this August long weekend:

Lacombe Pro Bull Riding- Saturday, July 30 

Lacombe Pro Bull Riding is back head to the Lacombe Agricultural Society’s grounds to check it out. Gates open at 5PM and the bulls are set to buck at 7PM with a cabaret to follow. Tickets are available at the gate and online. For more information click here. 

 

Tees Rodeo- All weekend long

The Tees Agricultural Society is hosting their 46th annual Tees Rodeo. In addition to the rodeo there will be a rodeo market, bouncy castles and live entertainment. For more information click here. 

 

Hlinka Gretzky Cup- Sunday, July 31-Wednesday, August 3

The 2022 Hlinka Gretzy Cup Tournament is being held in Red Deer. You can check out a couple games throughout the weekend at the Peavey Mart Centrium. For more information click here. 

 

Nature Conservancy of Canada’s BioBlitz- All weekend long

This long weekend the Nature Conservancy of Canada is encouraging people to get and enjoy and document the nature they see around them. Snap pictures of all the unique species Alberta has to offer. For more information click here. 

 

New exhibition at the Flat Iron Building Museum in Lacombe
