It’s about to be another bustling weekend in central Alberta. There are only a couple more weekends before kids go back to school and here are some events that may be worth checking out:
Lacombe Pride Weekend
The Lacombe Pride Society will be hosting their first pride events in the City of Lacombe this Friday, August 25 and Saturday, August 26th.

Lacombe Dome: Anarchy Splatfest
A video game tournament will be happening at the Lacombe Memorial Centre. People of all ages and skill levels are welcome to take part. Participants will be playing Super Mario Smash Brother Ultimate and Splatoon 3.
The event will be happening on Friday, August 25 and Saturday, August 26.

Hammer-In Festival
A blacksmithing festival will be happening in Lacombe this Saturday, August 26th on 49th Street in Lacombe. That’s happening from 10AM-4PM.

Blackfalds First Annual Jump Jam
People of all ages will be competing in mountain bike, and freestyle BMX events. There are no pre-qualification requirements, and anyone is welcome to participate.
That’s happening on Saturday, August 26 from 10:00AM to 4:00PM.

Ellis Bird Farm Warbler Walk
The Ellis Bird Farm will be hosting a warmer walk on Sunday, August 27.
The walk starts at 8AM.
Bower Community Old Fashioned Picnic
The Bower Community will be hosting an old-fashioned picnic at 85 Boyce Street to celebrate the new Community Playground. There will be live music, horse and carriage rides, and refreshments.
Those attending are encouraged to bring a blanket or a lawn chair.
That’s happening 1:30PM to 4:30PM on Sunday, August 27.
2023 Men’s National Baseball Championships
The City of Red Deer is getting set to host a huge tournament this weekend. The 2023 Men's National Baseball Championships is happening until Sunday.
