The Sylvan Lake Gulls are ready to kick off their home opener of the 2022 season Wednesday night.

Last year the team in the WCBL (Western Canadian Baseball League) was scrambling to get ready for a COVID shortened season. The stadium was still being built, with water, power, and even the concessions under construction while the team played its inaugural season.

Now it's year two and The Gulls are ready! The stadium is now almost complete with brand new locker rooms, board rooms, luxury suites and even a scoreboard for a full fan experience. There will be full concession stands, special seating areas for groups, and The Tipsy Bird bar to quench your thirst.

This season in the Western Canadian Baseball League, the team will play 56 games. The Gulls will now play teams from Saskatchewan (Swift Current, Regina, Weyburn, Moose Jaw) and more teams from Alberta that weren't in the league last season. (Medicine Hat, Fort McMurray, Brooks).

Their home opener will be Wednesday night, June 1st versus Okotoks, at Gulls Stadium in Pogadl Park.

The Gulls will play 28 games at home in Sylvan lake. The regular season wraps up on the road in Fort McMurray on August 6th, with playoffs starting on August 8th.
