Monday night's game between The Sylvan Lake Gulls and The Fort McMurray Giants was suspended in the seventh inning.

Unfortunately for the record breaking crowd of over 1600 fans, a lengthy rain delay and an injury to a Giant's player caused the umpires to suspend the game.

The game started off well for the home team who took a 2-1 lead in the third inning. But after a rain delay of more than an hour The Gulls bats cooled off and Fort Mac came back with 3 runs in the top of the seventh. Then a Giants player while running to first was injured on the play. The game was stopped for a long period while waiting to get the player off the field by stretcher.

Because of the late time (after 11:30) it was decided that the game would be officially suspended with the remaining innings to be played at a later date (TBD).

Next game for The Gulls is Thursday as they hit the road to take on the same team in Fort McMurray.
