It wasn't the way The Sylvan Lake Gulls were looking to kick off five games in five days Wednesday night in Sylvan Lake.

In front of over 1013 fans and a cooperating Mother Nature The Gulls lost 7-0 to a very strong Okotoks Dawgs team.

The Dawgs hit early with three runs in the first inning, another four in the seventh and that was enough to beat Sylvan Lake who now sit in second place in the West Division with a record of 6-4. Okotoks are a perfect 9-0.

Hopefully things will get easier for The Gulls as they head off to Brooks tonight to play the 2-7 Bombers at Elks Stadium in Brooks.

The next home game will be the start of a three game series with The Lethbridge Bulls. That series starts Friday night at 7:05
