École H.J. Cody School in Sylvan Lake and École Olds High School both hosted The Horizons Leadership Conference last week. The events showcased inspirational keynote speakers: former Humboldt Bronco hockey player, Ryan Straschnitzki, and professional wrestler Chris Gray. The Conference is an opportunity provided by the Canadian Student Leadership Association, with an aim to motivate, inspire and educate advisors and student leaders across the country.

Cody“The conference was a huge success,” said Madison Gatez, teacher and leadership advisor from Olds High. “We are so proud of our students for bringing some huge energy back to the leadership conferences once again! This was a lot of the students’ first conference ever and they lit up the room with enthusiasm! It was an energizing and inspiring day.”
Guest students from high schools across Chinook’s Edge attended, and students shared the amazing events and leadership activities they are involved with in their schools. They networked, enjoyed some great food and inspired some new ideas.
