The Ponoka Trade Show is just around the corner and there is tons of great things to look forward to.
“We have a wide variety of vendors. We've got everybody from home renovations to not for profits. We've got our Market Square that has a whole bunch of vendors with the home based businesses and homemade stuff. We've got the Easter Bunny coming, which we're pretty excited about. We have lots of activities going on and some great prizes that people can win,” said Executive Director of the Ponoka Chamber of Commerce, Heather Bendera.
The last trade show the Chamber was able to host was in 2019. Bendera says they were in the midst of planning their 2020 trade show when COVID happened and it had to be abruptly cancelled. The last couple tradeshows were held virtually which weren’t quite as effective of going there in person.
“I'm really hoping that everybody is going to be excited to be able to get out again and come to the trade show and enjoy it and enjoy being out,” she added.
Bendera noted that one of the biggest challenges this year was for local businesses to coordinate their staff in order to attend. Several businesses are facing low employment. That being said, this year’s show has no empty booths.
“We've got Legacy Ford and they're going to have a bunch of vehicles for everybody to look at. The vehicle market is pretty hot. It's a great chance to come down and see what they've got. We've got an RV dealer coming in as well and we have Maddison Pearman our very own Olympian is going to be stopping by,” explained Bendera.
This year’s theme is ‘Get your game face on’ anyone who attends wearing their favourite jersey will be able to get in to the show for free. Otherwise admission is $10 for families, $4 for adults, $2 for seniors and youth, and anyone under two-years-old is free.
The show will be held this Friday (April 8) from 3:00PM-8:00PM and Saturday (April 9) 10:00AM-4:30PM at the Ponoka Arena Complex.
