Friday, February 17 @ Festival Hall – Red Deer

Family Day Friday Dance

The City of Red Deer is presenting a Family Day Friday Dance to celebrate the Friday before the long weekend – all ages are welcome! Bring your own water bottle or mug to help reduce waste. Enjoy music from Jukebox Rock and DJ Tunes. Tickets are $20 per family, $10 per person, $5 per youth, FREE for 4 and under. All the action kicks off at 6:30!


Sunday, February 19 @ Cranna Lake - Lacombe

Free Family Day Fun Skate

Central Alberta Co-op and The City of Lacombe partnered up with the Lacombe District FCSS and Central Alberta Youth Unlimited to bring you a Free Family Day Fun Skate at Cranna Lake! There will be hot dogs and hot chocolate for everyone. Helmets are required to go onto the ice. Join the fun from 1-3!


Monday, February 20 @ The Town of Ponoka

Family Day Events

The town of Ponoka is celebrating Family Day with tons of drop-in events and activities all around town! Head to the Arena Complex at 11 for skating, hot chocolate and hot dogs, face painting, hay rides, a bonfire beginning at noon, and a concession opening at 1 – admission to these events is a donation to the Food Bank. There will also be a free family swim at the Aquaplex starting at 12. You can also enjoy tobogganing at the Tom Hamilton Memorial Centre as well as drop-in gymnastics fun at the Gymnastics Club! End the night with fireworks at the River Valley for 8pm!

 


Monday, February 20 @ Lakeshore Drive – Sylvan Lake

Sylvan Lake Ice Marathon

The Sylvan Lake Ice Marathon begins on Lakeshore Drive at 10am with a 50km adult race and a 25km youth race! After the excitement you can enjoy and open ended tour at 12. If you get hungry head to the ‘Dutch Village’ where there will be some food from Holland available to keep your bellies full. No admission fee required to spectate the races or to participate in the tour.

 


Monday, February 20 @ The Town of Blackfalds

Winterfest

There’s a HUGE Family Day Celebration happening in Blackfalds this year! It all begins at 9am when the Duel Ice Development Society serves up pancakes. Then, for lunch, head to the Abbey Centre for a BBQ courtesy of the Blackfalds Fire Department. They will be taking donations but there is no cost to get some lunch. There will be many FREE activities all around town including horse drawn sleigh rides, an ice slide and a snow maze, a Kids Zone with bouncy castles and games – also experience the Ice Whyte Ice Carvers create sculptures and host the Lil Chipper lessons!  create sculptures and host the Lil Chipper lessons! All the action between 9 and 5!


Monday, February 20 @ The Town of Innisfail

Family Day Celebration

The Town of Innisfail and The Kinsmen Club have teamed up to bring you a big Family Day celebration once again! Stop by the Innisfail Arena between 12 and 3 for some outdoor family ice time – helmets mandatory to go onto the ice. There will be a BBQ on site with the Kinsmen taking donations for Cystic Fibrosis but the BBQ is free! Then, head to the Innisfail Aquatic Centre between 2:30 and 4:30 for some swimming – the cost to swim is a cash or non-perishable food donation to the Food Bank.
