Wolf Creek Public Schools (WCPS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Erin Kosola as École James S. McCormick School assistant principal.

Kosola is joining WCPS from Red Deer Public Schools, having taught in Red Deer Public for several years, primarily in the French Immersion program. Over the past year and a half, Kosola has filled the acting vice principal position at École Mountview Elementary School.

“During her tenure at Mountview, Erin has also worked as the literacy and numeracy learning loss intervention teacher and the literacy and numeracy lead teacher,” said Sonja Dykslag, WCPS assistant superintendent of People Services. “She is an excellent addition to the leadership team at JS McCormick and WCPS.”

Kosola holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta/Red Deer College Middle Years Program as well as holds a Master of Science in Child and Adolescent Developmental Psychology from Northcentral University. Additionally, she is a Certified Youth Mental Health Specialist and is Level Two Certified in the Circle of Capacity: Trauma-Informed Expressive Arts Therapy.

“I am thrilled to be joining WCPS and the leadership team at École James S. McCormick School,” said Kosola. “I look forward to applying my experience and skill set to support our teachers, students and families and for the opportunity to support French Immersion and early education programming.”
