UPDATE:CLEARED (STARS and EMS at scene of crash on Highway 42 near Pine Lake )

UPDATE: Highway has been cleared

BACKGROUND

Just after 1:30 pm, Sunday afternoon, Red Deer County EMS were called to the scene of a crash on Highway 42 near the intersection of Range Road 251a.

STARS air ambulance has also been called to the area 14 miles east of Penhold.

Eyewitnesses to the crash say there are both firetrucks and numerous ambulances at the crash which is just east of The Pine Lake Store.

Both east and west traffic is affected. 

There is no word on the severity of injuries or how many involved.

An update will be given once more information is made available.
