The unofficial results for the Town of Ponoka are in.

Kevin Ferguson has acclaimed Mayor for his first term. Ferguson previously served on the Ponoka Council. 

Here are the results of the election:

  • Ted Dillon: 1,090 (ELECTED)
  • Clayton Nelson: 796 (ELECTED)
  • Sandra Lyon: 880 (ELECTED) 
  • Carla Prediger: 979 (ELECTED)
  • Austin Lutz: 454 
  • Teri Underhill: 873 (ELECTED)
  • Cal David: 1,160 (ELECTED) 
  • Debby Babych: 494 
  • Jackie Haines: 743 

Approximately 1,632 voters cast ballots in the Town of Ponoka 2021 Municipal Election. The total number of eligible voters in the Town based on the 2016 Statistics Canada Census data is approximately 5,500. That equates to a voter turnout rate of about 30 per cent in the 2021 Municipal Election. Voter turnout in the 2017 Municipal Election in the Town of Ponoka was about 37 per cent. 

The new Ponoka Town Council is scheduled to be officially sworn in at the next Town Council meeting on October 26 at 6 p.m. at the Ponoka Civic Centre. All meetings are being held online.
