On May 10, 2023 Red Deer RCMP received reports of an impaired driver who was driving dangerously throughout the City. The driver of the vehicle struck numerous vehicles and failed to remain at the scene of the collisions.

Police began an investigation and the vehicle was located a short time later. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver fled the scene at a high rate of speed. The vehicle had been reported as stolen the previous evening and was later found abandoned.

With the help of multiple RCMP units, police dog services, and an RCMP helicopter, they were able to locate the driver who was operating a second stolen vehicle in a dangerous manner. The vehicle was immobilized and the driver was arrested without incident.

32-year old Glen Primrose of Red Deer has been charged with the following Criminal Code and Traffic Safety Act offences:

  • Possession of property under $5000 dollars;
  • Theft of motor vehicle;
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle;
  • Fail to comply with release order;
  • Operating a motor vehicle while prohibited;
  • Operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drug under sec 88.1 (4)(a) TSA
  • Resisting arrest;
  • Mischief under $5000;
  • Fail to remain at the scene of accident 69(1)(A) TSA;

Primrose has been remanded for court on May 12, 2023 at 9:30 am.
