Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw announced that the Government of Alberta will be releasing a marketing campaign targeted at Albertans under 40. She says the ads take a comedic take towards the virus in order to demonstrate the virus’s seriousness.

“I want the families of the 684 Albertans we have lost to this virus and everyone currently fighting it to know that we are using every communication tool we have to help stop the spread,” said Hinshaw.

She said all actors and crew followed all provincial recommendations when creating the ads.

As we head into this weekend with new restriction on the horizon starting on Sunday, Dr. Hinshaw is asking Albertans to be responsible at this time.

“We do not need to wait for the clock to strike midnight on Saturday and for those health orders to go into effect to begin doing our part. This weekend please do not rush into malls or cram into businesses tomorrow before the restrictions kick in. Don’t host a holiday or Hanukah party just because you don’t think you’ll get caught,” explained Hinshaw.
