This year’s Lacombe and District Chamber of Commerce Spring Trade Show and Market is building up to be another fantastic event. According to Jeff Hanger, Executive Director with the Lacombe and District Chamber of Commerce, both events are completely sold out.

Hanger proudly mentions that over 100 vendors will be coming to this year’s Trade Show in partnership with Lacombe Ford and that it’s a great way to network and connect with other like-minded people. “One of the things that I always encourage is for people to be quite creative so that ideas can be generated and maybe there’s problems out there that the business industry can solve.”

Finding employment is a challenge many people face. Hanger says that Clirico has sponsored the event so that resources can be on hand to help people looking for work. “Recruiting and hiring people… it’s a challenge at every level. And so, the more support we get the better.” He adds, “Employers and job seekers can come and talk to the Lacombe Employment Centre, EPSS and to the Red Deer Career Assistance Network.”

The Trade Show isn’t all large business, though. The Marketplace is made up of smaller businesses including wood workers, sign maker, artist, leather crafter, and other talented artisans. There will also be fun events all weekend long, including dog demonstrations, and a pet adoption event sponsored by Wags Holistic Nutrition.

Over 3,000 people attended last year’s event and Hanger expects the numbers to be about the same this year.

When asked why people love the trade show, Hanger says, “That’s what we do. The Trade Show is our one chance of the year to show off. Show off how wonderful you are. Come and meet the wonderful people of Lacombe.”

Hanger explains that The Lacombe and District Chamber of Commerce is proud to help represent the community, the people, and their businesses. “That’s the key part of the trade show, and it’s a key part of us at the Chamber. It’s all about the people.”

The Lacombe and District Chamber of Commerce 40th Annual Spring Trade Show and Marketplace takes place Friday, April 21st and Saturday, April 22nd at the Gary Moe
