The City of Red deer is launching a new grant program aimed at providing post-pandemic relief and recovery today (March 14, 2022). The recovery support will be a one-time grant available for local arts, culture, heritage, recreation, and sport organizations in Red Deer.

“We’re pleased to offer financial assistance for community groups who have struggled to operate over the last two years,” said Barb McKee, Recreation Superintendent. “Our culture and recreation organizations provide valuable, diverse opportunities that provide important quality of life activities for Red Deerians, and we want to assist them in their recovery to help ensure they can continue to support our community.”

In total, $380,000 is available with a maximum of $10,000 per applicant. Eligible expenses include items such as wages, training fees, restart costs, rent, utilities, insurance, communications expenses, equipment, office and program supplies, evaluation costs, and other ongoing operating requirements.

Eligible organizations are invited to apply and must complete their application by April 8, 2022 at 4:00PM SMT and must be submitted online.
