City of Lacombe Council will be available to discuss the Community Standards Bylaw at the Lacombe and District Chamber of Commerce’s spring tradeshow which will be held on April 22nd and 23rd.

The Community Standards Bylaw was first passed in June of 2019. This year’s review includes several proposed amendments and will be subject to an in-depth consultation phase before approval.

"Our Community Standards Bylaw is an important tool Council has to ensure Lacombe's quality of life remains at a high level," Mayor Grant Creasey said. "Council looks forward to receiving community feedback in the coming weeks. The 2022 Lacombe and District Chamber of Commerce Trade Show will be an opportunity for residents to discuss these changes with Council in person."

The areas of focus include:

  • Trees in alleys and over sidewalks
  • Classification of weeds to be enforced through the Bylaw
  • Length of grass and weeds
  • Vegetation in sidewalks
  • Noise from commercial snow clearing
  • Unsightly premises enforcement

If you are unable to attend the trade show, the City of Lacombe is also accepting feedback through the City’s social media channels or you can email communitystandards@lacombe.ca
