1913 Days is back in full force this year and is kicking off this Thursday, June 9 until Sunday, June 12. The four days are jam packed full of exciting things for Sylvan Lakers and others in the community check out.

This year, there are a couple of new things coming to 1913 Days.

“The Roller Disco is new. The movie in the park is new to 1913 days. We've done something similar to that before. The Senior Varsity Hall Dance is also new to tie in with Senior’s Week, which is this week leading up to the event. The other items have been have been done in the past, although maybe not in the last couple of years because of COVID restrictions,” explained Special Events Coordinator for Recreation, Culture and Tourism for the Town of Sylvan Lake, Nathan Young.

The last full-fledged event was held in 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic took place. Although there are no provincial restrictions putting limitations on 1913 Days this year, Young says the Town is doing their best to ensure that the public remains safe

However, based on social media input Young says the community is getting pretty excited for this year’s festival.

“We're getting a lot of uptake on our parade entries and the ticketed events are selling well.

The ticketed events are selling well. So, I would say that yes, there is an excitement to come to these events,” added Young.
