Sunny 94 has partnered with Central Alberta Rescue Effort Shelter (C.A.R.E.S) to bring you pet of the week! Each Wednesday we feature a new, super friendly, totally adoptable dog or cat. We’ll tell you a bit about them in hopes you’ll go to CARES, meet them, fall in love, and take them home with you!

Loki

This is Loki!

Hi, my name is Loki! I’m a 1 and a 1/2 year old Australian Kelpie who LOVES to play and be active! My breed is a medium size so at 21 pounds I’m fully grown. I came to CARES back in September of 2016 and am still looking for my forever home! There have been many people coming to meet me but I have a pretty specific personality that doesn’t mesh with everyone.

Like I said before, I absolutely love being outside! I function the best when given a job to do and when I’m active/focused. If you have a farm or an acreage I would flourish with all that space to run around in! And if you had sheep or cattle needing to be herd, or some horses to run alongside, or maybe some gophers you want dealt with – I’m your guy! I’m not known to bite but I can get defensive when I feel threatened so I will growl at you. Don’t let that deter you though!

I am caught up on all vaccinations including kennel cough, rabies, and heartworm. I’m also microchipped so if I ever get lost you’ll know exactly where to find me! There are many other dogs at CARES just like me who are looking for a second chance at life. To come see me and possibly become my new best friend just book an appointment with CARES and get the adoption process started by CLICKING HERE! I can’t wait to meet you!

Did you know CARES has a 0% euthanasia rate since they became the animal care centre for Lacombe? Click the audio box below to hear Kyla from CARES explain exactly who they are, what they do, and what's new/exciting at CARES:
