Sunny 94 has partnered with Central Alberta Rescue Effort Shelter (C.A.R.E.S) to bring you Pet of the Week! Each Wednesday we feature a new, super friendly, totally adoptable dog or cat. We’ll tell you a bit about them in hopes you’ll go to CARES, meet them, fall in love, and take them home with you!

Hi, I’m Ivy!

My name is Ivy and I’m only 1 year old! I’m a mixture of Chihuahua and Daschund… also known as a Chiweenie! I was a stray puppy that no one came to claim so I was transferred to CARES where they treat me like family!

I may be small, but I have a really big heart! I have a soft temper, I’m quiet, and I would love to jump up on your lap and snuggle until I fall asleep. But don’t get me wrong, if you were to play with me I have lots of energy and like being both indoors and outdoors! I do really well in houses that already have dogs as I’m very social and have no problem making new friends. But I don’t mind being the only pooch in the house! I know how to use a dog door really well and I’m comfortable in a crate if we ever have to travel.

I’m spayed with a tattoo to prove it and I’m all caught up on my routine vaccinations like kennel cough and rabies. I’m also micro-chipped!
