The Central Alberta U16AA Sting captured Bronze at the Canadian Ringette Championships in a thrilling 5-4 overtime victory over Team Alberta.
The Sting U16AA squad were the only U16AA team to finish round robin undefeated 6-0.
In the semi-finals, the Sting met team New Brunswick and fell short 8-2 to the eventual National Champions.
This put the Sting in the Bronze medal game against Team Alberta(Calgary Pace).
The Sting defeated them 5-4 in the overtime final.
Scoring for Sting were Anderson and Cherniak both with 2 goals and Madison Pluister with a single. Cherniak netted the overtime winner. Mckenna Smalley was the winning goaltender.
(Central Alberta U19AA Sting - Consolation Final)
The Central Alberta U19AA Sting captured the Consolation Final at the Canadian Ringette Championships, 3-1 against Team Quebec.
The U19AA team finished round robin with a 4 and 3 record.
In the Consolation Final, Sting captured the title 3-1 over Team Quebec.
Scorers were MacKenzie Lindholm, Parent and Makenna Tonery.
Forrester was solid in net for the victory.
At the Closing banquet, Kianna Doyle was named a U16AA 2nd Team all-star and Melissa Misutka was named a U19AA 2nd Team All-star
