This emergency alert is cancelled, the evacuation order for this area has been lifted and road closures are no longer in place.

The wildfire is classified as being held, the public must be cautious while travelling in the area due to heavy smoke and follow directions of local authorities.

UPDATE 10:32 PM

Staffed roadblocks and RCMP patrol will remain overnight, and the evacuation order remains in place. Highway 756 (Buster Creek Road) is closed at roadblocks north at TWP 41-4 and south at TWP 40-2A (Crimson Lake Road). Individuals with respiratory issues should seek medical attention if required, and if possible, leave the impacted area. For assistance, evacuated residents can call 403-845-4444.

UPDATE 5:35 PM 03/06/2022:

It is recommended that all evacuees check in at the Rocky Regional Recreation Centre (Arena), 5332 50 St, Rocky Mountain House.
Evacuees can check in at the Rocky Regional Recreation Centre in the Town of Rocky Mountain House.

Clearwater Regional Fire Rescue Services (CRFRS) along with provincial wildfire crews with air support are on scene. 

According to Alberta wildfire, the blaze is about 3 hectares in size. Over 20 firefighters, air tankers and helicopters are working in the area.

From Alberta Emergency Alert 4:00PM 03/06/2022

There is a wildfire north of Crimson Lake, north of TWP 41-0. Alberta Wildfire has begun to evacuate north of the Ferrier Gas Plant on Buster Creek Rd (TWP RD 4-10), north and north west 5kms.

Everyone must evacuate immediately following the designated route and obey road blocks. Follow the directions of local authorities.

To evacuate heading north travel on Buster Creek Road to O'Chiese Road, west on O'Chiese road to Sunchild Road, south on Sunchild Road to hwy 11.
