Interim leader of the Conservative Party, Candice Bergen has made some changes to the Conservative Parliamentary team following the ousting of former Conservative leader, Erin O’Toole.

Now, MP for Red Deer-Lacombe, Blaine Calkins will be serving as Chief Opposition Whip among a couple of other changes to the opposition.

Those changes include:

  • House Leader: John Brassard (Barrie—Inisfil)
  • Deputy House Leader and Co-Chair of Question Period Planning Tom Kmiec (Calgary Shepard)
  • Chief Opposition Whip: Blaine Calkins (Red Deer—Lacombe)
  • Deputy Whip and Co-Chair of Question Period planning: Lianne Rood (Lambton—Kent—Middlsex)

“I would like to extend my thanks to Gerard Deltell, Blake Richards, Michael Barrett and James Bezan for all their hard work while serving on the Leadership Team,” said Bergen. “I would also like to congratulate John Brassard, Tom Kmiec, Blaine Calkins, and Lianne Rood on their new roles.”
