Saskatoon Blades-4 Red Deer Rebels-2
The Saskatoon Blades scored three goals in the third period to come back and beat the Red Deer Rebels Wednesday night at The Peavey Mart Centrium.
After a pair of Kai Uchacz goals in the first period for Red Deer, it was looking like the home team were on their way to a sweep of the series. But the Blades were a more desperate team and they showed it. Saskatoon would start their comeback with a goal halfway through the second period to make it 2-1. Then adding three more unanswered goals in a four minute span in the third, Saskatoon would come out on top 4-2.
There was a scary moment at the start of the game. Rebel's forward Kalan Lind was hit in the head and knocked unconscious at the 3 minute mark. He was taken off the ice on a stretcher and sent to the Red Deer Regional Hospital for evaluation. He would later be released.
On that play Saskatoon player Justin Lies would be given a five-minute major and a game misconduct.
The Rebels would go 1-3 on the power play. They had 36 shots on goal while the Blades had 24.
With the loss, the series now moves back to Saskatoon with the Rebels still up 3-1 in the series. Game time is 7:00 pm, Friday night at The Sask Tel Centre.
