Red Deer Rebels-3 Saskatoon Blades-6

The Saskatoon Blades extended their best-of-seven WHL Eastern conference series against the Red Deer Rebels with a win at home Friday night.

The Blades beat the Rebels 6-3 which means the series is now at 3 games to 2 in favour of Red Deer. The biggest difference in the game was special teams. Red Deer went 0 for 3 on the power play while Saskatoon was 3-6. Red Deer had 14 minutes of penalties in total.

It was a back and forth game (tied 3-3) until the 19 minute mark of the second period, when the Blades would start a 3-goal unanswered streak to put the game away.

Both Rebels goalies, Chase Coward and Kyle Kelsey were charged with 3 goals against.

Red Deer can still end this series with a home win tomorrow (Sunday).

Game time is 2:00 pm at The Peavey Mart Centrium.
