BGC Wolf Creek will be expanding into Terrace Ridge School. BGC formerly known as Boys and Girls Club came into Lacombe this school year at Ècole Lacombe Upper Elementary School and are now adding more programming.

“There was a lot of interest at Terrace Ridge and because we couldn't transport kids over to Upper Elementary School from Terrace Ridge. We just said to the school that if there was enough interest that we would start one there. We worked with the school district and they are leasing us some space so that we can just run a small one there,” explained Beth Reitz, Executive Director of the BGC Wolf Creek.

BGC offers after-school programs and school’s out day programs offered during Professional Development Days. So far, there has been one day where out of school programming was offered where students got to take part in several fun exciting Charlie and Chocolate Factory themed activities. The upcoming out of school program will be a cat themed event.

On average Reitz says there around 12-15 students who take up their after-school program.

“I think that it's needed and I think that there's a lot of trust in the name of both BGC and Boys and Girls Club in the past. Lacombe has just kind of needed something like that for a while the location of the schools make it really convenient for parents,” explained Reitz.

Registration for BGC at Terrace Ridge School begins today (October 24) with programming beginning on Monday, November 14th. For more information, click here.
