One of the top bantam goalies in Alberta impressed scouts this past weekend in Red Deer at the Alberta Cup, as his team came within a hair of winning it all, losing in the finals after a huge comeback from their opponent.

Rimbey born goalie for Team Black Kaden Toussaint helped his team make it to the final game, where he faced one of the toughest things a goalie can go through; a penalty shot against one of the top players in the league that Kaden was all too familiar with.

"Late in the period we got called on a penalty shot, and it was against a guy named Connor Gourley and all season we chirped each other when we played against each other, and didn't like each other that much, but I managed to stop him in the penalty shot, so that was good."

Despite his best efforts, Team Black was unable to stop Team Red from making a comeback.

"We played them (Team Red) the day before and we knew they were going to come out strong in the third, but they just managed to come out harder than we did and scored two big ones right off the start. We tried pushing but we couldn't come back. Overall though, it was a really good experience and really fun."

In the end, Team Red came back from a 3-1 deficit to win the game and tournament by a score of 6-3.

Kaden is hoping his hard work and dedication to the sport will one day take him all the way to the NHL.
