Arrest made in Red Deer homicide investigation

UPDATE:

Alberta RCMP have made an arrest in connection with the Oct. 13 2022, homicide of Brandon Loughlin in Red Deer.

On Dec. 2, 2022, RCMP arrested Red Deer resident Tyreece Evans-Goodrunning (20). Evans-Goodrunning has been charged with Second Degree Murder.

Evans-Goodrunning has been taken before a justice of the peace and has been remanded in custody with his next court appearance date set for Dec. 5, 2022, at Red Deer Provincial Court,

RCMP are not looking for additional suspects in this case.

As this matter is now before the court no further updates can be provided.

BACKGROUND STORY: October 14th, 2022

On Oct. 13, 2022, at approximately 02:33 a.m., Red Deer RCMP received a report of an unconscious male in the area of 58 avenue and 61 street in Red Deer. Upon arrival, EMS transported the victim to an area hospital was he was pronounced deceased.

On October 14, 2022 an autopsy was performed and the victim’s manner of death has been determined to be a homicide.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken carriage of the investigation. The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Brandon Robert Loughlin, a resident of Red Deer.
