The Sylvan Lake Gulls took advantage of a double-header Tuesday night against The Swift Current '57's.

With all of the wet weather we've had this Summer it's been tough to try and schedule in baseball games for The Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL).

Because of a previous rained out game, The Gulls hosted Swift Current last night for two games, and won big in both.

GAME ONE

Sylvan Lake Gulls-9  Swift Current '57s -1

The Gulls winning pitcher Josh Tucker recorded   9 strikeouts, with only one earned run, to get the win and to be named player of the game.

Fan favourite and returning player Tyler Mcwilly would hit a home run in the 6th inning and then a grand slam in the 7th to put the game out of reach. The final score 9-1

GAME TWO

Sylvan Lake Gulls-9  Swift Current '57s -0

Once again amazing pitching and hot bats for the Gulls would prevail in the second game of the double-header.

Winning pitcher Hunter Jones with 9 strikeouts and only one hit against would lead The Gulls to a shut out win against Swift Current.

Ethan He would lead the Gulls batters with 3 RBI's and a team total 10 hits in the game. The final score 9-0.

Next up for Sylvan Lake a game tonight (Wednesday) against The Brooks Bombers, 7:05 pm at Gulls Stadium.
