The 46th Annual Tees Rodeo is happening this weekend hosted by the Tees Agricultural Society. The event will be happening on July 29th, 30th, 31st in Tees. This year, there is tons of exciting things to look forward to.

“It's a busy, fast-paced weekend. There's lots of family events going on and we have all our rodeo events throughout the day and then on top of that we have a market. It'll have a bunch of different kinds of vendors, kind of like a little farmers market type thing, but just a little Rodeo market. We have a bouncy castle and mechanical bull, and we have three food trucks coming in. We have our beer garden so Friday night we have a DJ and Saturday and Sunday we have live bands,” said President of the Tees Agriculture Society, Crystal LaRose.

Live performances will include a DJ on Friday night, admission will also be free, Dean Pengelly band on Saturday, and the Backroad Traveller Band on Sunday. For the kids there will also be a bouncy castle on site.

As for rodeo events there’s a couple exiting events happening. This year’s rodeo events will be sanctioned by the Central Alberta Rodeo Association.

“We have quarter mile race and then we have it's called a cowboy rescue race and we have wild pony race,” added LaRose.

The Tees Rodeo was able to happen last year without restrictions but LaRose says it wasn’t able to be sanctioned. The Cowboy Rescue Race was new to last year’s rodeo.

On Sunday, there will also be a Cowboy Church and Pancake Breakfast. LaRose is very thankful to the community for their help in putting on the Tees Rodeo.

“Our rodeo is completely run by volunteers and community and sponsors. There's a lot of work that goes into it. We are hugely thankful. For everybody to pitch in it's a lot of work, but it always pays off in the end,” said LaRose.

The Rodeo kicks off at 5pm on Friday, July 29th and at 12PM on Saturday and Sunday (July 30-31st).
