The kids are going back to school and summer is coming to a close. Soon everyone will be back to their regular routines. The fun doesn’t have to stop just because the summer is over. The County of Lacombe Lifelong Learning Association will be hosting their 43rd Annual Active Living Fair highlighting all the local events, activities, and opportunities that will be available right in our community.

“I’ve got a full event. It’s going to be fun. It’s going to be energetic. We’re going to have lots of door prizes,” said Dani Ducross, Executive Director of the County of Lacombe Lifelong Learning Association.

At the fair you can scope out all of the local organizations offering sports, classes, events and opportunities in Lacombe.

“We have tons of programs and activities that will be there to share their information. We have soccer registration there that night. There’s a lot of dance registration that will be there. You can register to run for track for trails run. There’s lots of volunteer opportunities to come and check out,” explained Ducross.

The City of Lacombe will also be on site offering the opportunity to have coffee with council giving people the opportunity to voice any concerns they may have about the community.

This year, there are a couple of new things coming to the fair as well.

“There’s a new pickleball group that started up in Lacombe and they are going to be there,” she added.

If you’re looking for a new way to keep busy this autumn, Ducross says the event will be a great way to scope out what’s happening.

“If you’re curious and you want to find something new to do, it doesn’t take long and that’s the thing. Pop-in for ten minutes and check it out and walk around. There’s lots chances for prizes and there’s a lot of cool things to check out there,” said Ducross.

The Active Living Fair will be happening on Wednesday, September 13th at the Lacombe Memorial Centre from 4:00-7:30PM.
