Storms bringing some moisture to Central Alberta.

Recent storms rolling through Central Alberta have been bringing some hail.

Last Thursday, storms which started in Western Alberta moved into the Central areas of the province, with hail ranging from the size of dimes to golf balls.

Mark Cutts, with the Ag Info Center, says the storms seem to be pretty localized.

"For a certain producer, he could have some fields effected, but if he's got some land that he's growing crops a few miles away, those might have been unaffected. Although hail is never welcome, it seems so far they have been a little smaller scale in terms of the land they've affected."

He says, the storms don't seem to be bringing long lasting spreads of hail, and they seem to be hit and miss.

It has not been reported the storms are hitting a large number of acres in a continuous path. One good thing about this weather, is the much needed moisture the storms seem to bring with them.
