Brazeau County in the Drayton Valley area has declared a state of agricultural disaster because of the recent snow and wet weather.

County Council says the moisture has turned this year's harvest into a hardship for farmers.

A large chunk of the crops in the county are still in the field so the county is hoping a disaster recovery program can be put in place to help farmers.

In other parts of the province, farmers are hoping that forecasts of warm weather this weekend will help them get back into the fields.
