A company out of Manitoba focused on unplugging combines with ease and efficiency, was recognized at Agri-Trade for their innovation.

Arnold Innovations received first place and $1,500 through the Ag Innovations Awards Program, for producing two hydraulically assisted cylinder-reversing wrenches, making it easier and safer when clearing plugs.

AI100-LEXION Reverser is designed for the Claas Lexion series combines, while the AI100-CX Reverser is designed for the New Holland CX series combines.

A family-owned business, co-founder Doug Arnold said the inspiration came from an injury on the farm.

“About eight years ago my dad, pushing up on the factory wrench with another guy, dented his shoulder bone and pinched a nerve under it and it gave him on and off pain for about a year and a half.”

“After that, he and I put our heads together and started a research and development process to get us to this product.”

Arnold said they couldn’t be more appreciative of the honour.

“We’re very grateful for the opportunity to be here and the judges for picking our company. Yeah, grateful and proud to see our hard work is being recognized.”

Second place went to ScherGain for their drop pan that calculates grain loss, while third place went to PowerLift Hydraulic Doors for their hydraulic doors.
