Residents at the Seasons Ponoka Retirement Community are working to bring joy and companionship to those living in long-term care with the Seniorosity program.

Through the program, residents deliver vases of flowers bi-monthly to those recovering in the hospital or living in long-term care.

The first delivery was made to the transition unit at Ponoka General Hospital, where residents shared their handpicked floral arrangements.

"We are thrilled to see the positive impact our Seniorosity program has had on both our residents and the individuals we've visited," said Connie Sheltus, Fun Manager at Seasons Ponoka. "The joy and connection this simple gesture of delivering flowers bring is immeasurable. Our residents are excited to continue this initiative and spread happiness in our community."

In a sustainable approach to the program, residents are growing some of the flowers themselves, adding a personal touch to the deliveries while fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment among the residents.

The next delivery is scheduled for residents at Northcott Care Centre in June.
